Description:
This sweet little dog is Laurie, a former stray from Wheeler Co., Ga. While we're not positive of her breed, she appears to be a Terrier mix.

Laurie faced death a few times before ever making it to SoCo Rescue. Her poor diet and a flea infestation led to some skin issues and loss of hair. At one time, a Glenwood Ga police officer told people to "bash her head in with a hammer". At another time, a man tried to intentionally run her over with his truck. Luckily, Laurie found safe haven at SoCo Rescue before she met her fate.

 Since coming to SoCo Rescue, Laurie has enjoyed a proper diet, received all of her yearly vaccines and has been spayed. She tested negative for heart worms and has been on a monthly heart worm preventative. Laurie is very playful, full of energry and enjoys playing with other dogs, both big and small. She's become crate trained and has even shown some good house training abilities. When adopted, she'll receive her micro-chip, which her new family should immediately register. She also walks well on a leash. Laurie will do very well living as a family pet or just as a companion to a single person.
