***ADOPTION PENDING!  Sundance Kid is being fostered in Sergeantsville, NJ and available for adoption only in the NJ and surrounding areas. We won't release him to his new home until March 17 as he's undergoing his vaccination period, but you can pre-adopt this handsome fellow today. Applications for his adoption should be submitted at socorescue.com; questions about Sundance should be addressed to socorescue8@gmail.com. (no phone calls please.)***

Along with his buddy Butch Cassidy, the Sundance Kid are the lone survivors that came from a home where the boyfriend/girlfriend couple knew that their property was contaminated with Parvo when they decided to bring five very young puppies to their home. The couple's yard and inside of the mobile home were littered with trash and other debris and the couple did nothing to protect the pups, including providing them with basic vaccinations or de-wormings. When SoCo Rescue's Scott Bennett answered the couple's plea for help to save the three remains pups, he found them living in deplorable conditions, eating from a bag of dog food that had been dropped, busted and was laying on the ground. And while asked to help,  Scott was met with such hostility from the couple that he almost had to call law enforcement as backup. It was a very tense moment, but eventually the couple agreed to let Scott take the pups. Unfortunately, Sundance's only remaining sibling passed away within a day and most likely due to Parvo, but Scott was able to save Butch and Sundance from the deadly virus.

Luckily, Sundance never displayed any of the typical Parvo signs, which is amazing. Also amazing is how so much love can fit into a little yellow ball of fur! Sundance's personality will lead him to becoming a great family companion and someone's very best friend for life.

Sundance Kid will have received 2/3 of his first year "puppy" vaccinations prior to being released to his new home. He's current with his scheduled de-wormings, treatments against parasites and has been started on his monthly preventatives. His adopter must agree to having him neutered once he reaches 6 months of age and provide verification of such to our rescue. He will require all of his basic training.
