When a man returned home from work one day, he discovered that two very thin females dogs had been abandoned at his home, which is in an isolated area. He took the two dogs in, one which was pregnant, and provided them with love and care until he was able to get them to SoCo Rescue. Initially, Sissy, her sister and her sister's newborn pups were all placed into a SoCo foster home where they were able to relax and regain their weight and health. After Sissy kept escaping from her kennel to go play with the foster family's personal dogs, she was transferred to SoCo Rescue.

Sissy is an amazingly friendly dog who thrives on contact with people and/or other dogs. Her very affection personality makes her a prime candidate for anyone looking for an adult dog to have as a companion. Sissy will do very well in a home with another dog but isn't very fond of chickens, as her foster discovered.  Due to her ability to climb fences, Sissy shouldn't be left outdoors if alone at home. Other than those two negative traits, Sissy has been near perfect since coming into the SoCo family.

Sissy has now been spay, had all of her yearly vaccination renewed, de-wormed, treated against parasites and kept on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, Her recent vet examination resulted in a negative heartworm test as well. Sissy may require additional house training
