Shortly after a powerful storm rocked our area, Scott Bennett was driving along I-16 when he spotted a dog running along the side of this very busy highway. This dog was soaked, obviously terrified and seemed to not have any idea how to get away from the danger that he found himself in. Fearing the dog would get hit, Scott stopped to try and lead the dog away from the interstate and was surprised when the fellow simply stopped and offered a paw in friendship in return for the help he was receiving. The animal control in that county was contacted and SoCo Rescue was allowed to retain "Sixteen" during his mandatory hold period, giving his owner time to reclaim him; sadly no one ever came for this fellow and he became part of the SoCo family.

Sixteen has proven to be a very friendly fellow and even quickly made a new doggy friend at the rescue. He's playful, active and very affectionate towards everyone he meets. While he loves to run and play, Sixteen also enjoys curling up in someone's lap and just relaxing. He's displayed some house training, apparently formerly living indoors, but may need a refresher course once in a new home. 

Sixteen has now been neutered, received an update on his vaccinations, de-wormed and kept on his monthly preventatives. During his recent vet examination, Sixteen tested negative for heartworms as well. His pictures don't dohim justice and make him appear larger than he is. Sixteen is a medium sized dog, weighing only about 25 lbs.
