Meet Jenny Blue and her eight newborn 'mini' Aussie mix puppies!  Jenny is available for adoption now that her puppies are weaned (see Jenny's Pups also on our website!)
On May 6, 2009 we were visting at the Humane Society when we looked across the yard toward Animal Control. There, in a pen was a terrified mini Aussie mix with ice blue eyes - heavily pregnant and being attacked by three larger, muscular dogs.  We yelled for help and the wonderful staff at the Humane Society helped break up the attack and move her to another, less violent kennel.  However, her 10 days wait in animal control wasn't completed, so we had to wait before she could be pulled our rescue.

Saturday May 9th, we went back to check on the little Aussie. She'd been moved to a kennel with two gentler dogs, but was still in animal control and was still obviously stressed and starting labor. Knowing any birth inside Animal Control isa death-by-virus sentence for newborns, we pulled her and brought her home.
We named her Jenny Blue and gave her a sterile, pre-delivery bath and a secluded crate - and we waited.
We awoke Sunday, May 10, Mother's Day, to one newborn!  By nightfall Jenny delivered eight beautiful puppies!

Now weaned, the pups are adoptable, and Jenny is ready for her new home! She is a gentle, sweet soul with a quiet but happy personality. She is a mini - her head stands knee high to a human, and she weighs about 20-25 lbs.

She has been vaccinated (DHLPP), wormed, and given monthly heartworm prevention. She will be spayed once she regains some weight she lost during her "maternity leave!"
