**Santos is being fostered in and is available for adoption in Pennington, NJ area.**

For over a week Santos and his two companions, Ivey and Casey, were seen scrounging for food at a local dumpster site. All three were very apprehensive and would simply retreat whenever we tried to approach them. After gaining permission from the county animal control, we set up traps to catch the elusive threesome. It took 5 long hours but eventually we had all three safely inside our vehicle and transported them to our rescue. A search for their possible owners yielded no positive results.

Understandably Santos is a bit apprehensive, but not aggressive, when first meeting new people. Once he feels safe, he becomes very accepting and seems to enjoy the company of people. He's very friendly, not hyper at all and would make a great "lap dog". He also gets along good with other calm dogs and hasn't shown any interest in our house cat. We think he'll do better in a home with older children since he is a bit on the timid side. We've also noticed that Santos won't relieve himself inside his kennel which is an indication that he's had some house-training in the past but may need more training once in a new home. He'll also need some work on his leash training as well.

Santos has been fully vetted, de-wormed and even tested negative for heart worms. We started him on his monthly flea/tick and heart worm preventatives.
