Max came to us after we were asked by our local vet to go and check on him.  Max lived down the street from the vet along with 14 other dogs.  All were tethered on a chain and had only a dog house for protection from the weather.  Though the woman who took in all these dogs had her heart in the right place, she did not have the means to care for them.  Max is a very friendly and sweet boy.  He is particular about his friends so if another dog is in the picture a meeting prior to adoption would be necessary.  Max is always happy and he is a very loving boy.

At Max's recent vet visit he was diagnosed with heart worms.  We've treated many dogs that were heart worm positive with the "slow-kill method".  This entails keeping the dog on a monthly preventative on the same day every month.  This prevents development of any new heart worms and in time the existing heart worms will die off.  According to our vet the life span for heart worms is 2 years.  The slow-kill method is less evasive then other methods and we've had great success with it.  

As of 3/20/16 it's estimated Max is 3-1/2 years old.  He is neutered and current on all his vaccinations.  Other then his heart worm status, Max seems to be in great overall health otherwise.  When adopted he will need to be kept on a monthly heart worm preventative.  Max is a wonderful boy that would make a great addition to any loving family.  If interested in this sweet boy please submit an application to www.socorescue.com.
