Shy was discarded to us along with her four brothers from a prominent man in the community. This is not the first litter of dogs this man has left with us this year, and none of them were taken care of at all. When this litter came in, they were unbelievably scared of humans. They cowered together constantly, and were afraid to leave one an others side. It was so very sad to see, as they were young dogs and they never had received an ounce of love from a human. When the staff tried to get near them they would just cower even more and it really was heartbreaking. 

Shy was the only female, the smallest, and the most frightened. After a few months of having the litter learn the routine, they began to show some signs of trust but it really took a while. We separated Shy from the litter because they were not letting her get food and she was very fragile both emotionally and physically. Once she was separated and she started gaining weight she began showeding signs of trust and love.  

Her transformation from this very sad, fragile dog to this beautiful girl who has started to trust is absolutely amazing. She has grown a great deal since she's been with us and we believe it's now her time to grow even more with a family to love.  

UPDATE: Shy, now known as Sky just went to a foster home in Pennigton, NJ. The family is amazed by the instant change in her. The kids are all in love and said her name does not fit her anymore. She has quickly picked up on the home enviroment. Walking beautifully with the other dogs. 

As of 12/10/15, it's estimated Shy is a year old.  She's current on all her vaccinations and she is spayed.
