While with their former family, Lila and her three pups were forced to live outdoors and allowed to roam freely without any boundaries such as fencing. After Lila and her pups continuously wandered onto a neighbor's property, the neighbor threatened to shoot all of the dogs. Instead of trying to properly retain her dogs, the owner decided it was much simpler to just surrender Lila and her pups to our rescue.

When they arrived at SoCo Rescue, Lila and her pups were severely flea infested and without any of the proper vaccinations.  They received no other basic care that would have provided them protection from any number of the ailments that could affect their lives. That lack of care cost one of the pups his life and almost took the life of another.   

Lila is very friendly but may take a day to get comfortable with new surroundings, people and/or other dogs. She also tested very well around cats and should do great coexisting with them. She would be great in an apartment or a house, and she'll make a great asset to any family,

Lila is current on all her vaccinations and has been spayed.  In July 2015, Lila tested positive for heart worms.  She was treated with the slow kill method and we are very happy to report on March 23, 2016 Lila was retested and she came back negative for heart worms.  This is just more proof that the slow kill method indeed works.  Lila will need to be kept on a monthly heart worm preventative.  If interested in providing Lila with the loving home she deserves, please submit an application at www.socorescue.com.
