River was surrendered and got his name after he was found on a river bank just down the street from the rescue.  It was rainy and miserable out and he was said to just be sitting there getting soaked and looking for food.  After a week or so at the rescue, he became ill and was immediately taken to our vet and quarantined.  With proper treatment and care, fortunately River made a full recovery in a very short time.  River is very sweet and very energetic.  As soon as he's let outside in the yard he just loves to run.  He has a lot of puppy tendencies making it a little difficult to determine his age.  We are guessing around 7 months give or take.  He has a lot of friends at the rescue and gets real excited and happy during playtime with them.  River is a sweet boy that would be good in a home with a lot of room, as he has an amazing zest for life.
