In April, 5 very young puppies were left  along side the road in a mobile home park not too far from SoCo Rescue. These pups weren't old enough to be away from their mom, much less trying to survive in the world alone. The woman that found them contacted SoCo Rescue and we took them in. Unfortunately, all but one pup passed away. But that pup still had more issues as he came into our rescue covered in mites, which caused him to loose a lot of his fur.

Looking like a black powder puff ball, "Puffy" overcame his rough start in life and is now enjoying being a puppy. He is healthy, happy and playful, all the things that a puppy should be. He also loves affection, both giving and receiving and is quick to accept new people and other pups. He is one well socialized little fellow.

While we think Puffy may be a Flat Coat Retriever mix and we expect him to grow to be a medium to large dog, we're just not sure. What we do know for sure is that this fellow will bring much joy to whatever home he goes to and will be a friend for life. He is now up to date on his vaccinations and other vet care and his adopter must agree to have him neutered at 6 months and provide proof of such to our rescue.
