Kelsey, a 4-5 year old Min Pin, was abandoned and left tied to a tree at a S. Carolina gas station. According to workers at the gas station, Kelsey had been there for "hours" and no one seemed to know who or why she had been left there. To complicate matters Kelsey also had an injury to rear leg, causing her to be even more fearful of any attempts to help her.

But as fate would have it, a SoCo Rescue representative was traveling home from a New Jersey adoption event that same day and just happened to stop at that gas station. After being alerted to Kelsey's situation, the SoCo member proceeded to make friends with her and soon had Kelsey to safety.

Since that time Kelsey has had overcome her traumatic ordeal. The injury to her leg proved to be minor as she soon was walking about with no difficulty. But most important, Kelsey has come to know that all people aren't as evil and cold-hearted as was the one that left her tied to that tree.

Kelsey still does, however, become alarmed by loud noises and/or raised voices so a home with young children would not be in her best interest. Kelsey would benefit by becoming the companion to a retired/senior person or in a home with only older, responsible children.

Kelsey has been fully vetted and is very healthy. She tested heart worm free and has been on a monthly preventative since coming to SoCo Rescue.
