Description:
This handsome Brittnay Spaniel is Aries, who came to SoCo Rescue after his former owner decided to "get rid" of his dogs.

Since coming to SoCo Rescue, we've learned a lot about Aries and his personality. He is great with all humans, not showing any aggression towards people at all. He is sometimes percular with which other dogs he'll accept but tends to be friendlier towards female dogs and some smaller male dogs. With the proper guidance, Aries has and can associate with most other dogs.

Even though he lived in a small kennel while with his former owner, Aries has shown very good housetraining abilities. Since he is very smart, becoming fully house trained should come easy for Aries with the proper guidance.

According to his former owner, Aries "loved to hunt". It's this natural instinct that also makes them great to train for other such activities such as agility competition. By referencing the Wikipedia site description of Brittnay Spaniels (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brittany_dog), one can learn the following about this magnificent breed of dog:

"The breed was originally bred as a hunting dog and noted for being easy to train and sweet-natured. The breed is generally more sensitive to correction than other hunting breeds, and harsh corrections are often unnecessary. [4][2]  Brittanys are all around sound dogs, as they are excellent family pets as well as working dogs in the field. Brittanys are eager to please, friendly, and sometimes sensitive dogs. They generally learn quickly and are loyal and attached to their owners. They are great with kids. Brittanys are energetic dogs, and need at least an hour of vigorous exercise every day. The dogs are active and require frequent exercise and room to run, and a fenced yard is essential. At least one long walk is required daily to satisfy the needs of most Brittanys, and many Brittanys will need more than this. The Brittany makes an ideal companion for an active owner. [5]  The breed sometimes gets a reputation for being crazy or uncontrollable, but these problems are almost invariably due to lack of exercise and training, and are not commonly seen in well cared-for dogs."

Aries will be neutered before his adoption as well as have all of his vaccines current and receive a micro-chip.
