This pretty young lady is Sandy, a Cocker Spaniel who is approx. 2 years old (according to her former owner).
Sandy's former owner claimed that she kept getting out of the house and roaming into his neighbor's yard. They also said that Sandy had been shot by the neighbor, with the bullit passing through her muscle and not causing any internal damage, but we've not seen any evidence of her having been shot.
Sandy has been excellent since coming to SoCo Rescue. She exhibits some pretty good house training skills, shows to be crate trained and gets along with other calm dogs. She will get irritated with a dog or puppy that is overly hyper, even asserting her authority when pushed to do so. Otherwise, she is very friendly around other dogs. For this, where other dog(s) are also in the household, we think that Sandy should only be considered for adoption if the other dog(s) are not too hyper.
Sandy loves humans and has shown no aggression towards them at all. She adapts very quickly to new surroundsings and should do very well when making the transition into her new home.
Sandy's former owner claimed that she was up to date with all of her vaccines, yet couldn't produce any vet records. Therefore, SoCo Rescue has just started over with all of her yearly vaccinations. Sandy will be spayed within the next week.
