UPDATE: Pippa's owner transferred her to a rescue in NJ. 12/09/11

Pippa is a young, female Black Lab mix. She was found as a stray in the Stillmore, Ga. area, which is between Macon and Savannah. She was taken in by a family that is trying to care for her until a home can be found. The family, already having a number of other dogs, hopes that a permanent or long term foster home can be found for Pippa.

Pippa is somewhat shy and apprehensive around humans, most likely due to being rejected by most people. She will warm up to someone after she has learned that they mean her no harm. She has been housed primarily as an outdoor dog but may be able to learn the art of house training with the right person. 

Pippa is very friendly to and loves to play with other dogs. Once you gain her confidence, she is very friendly and devoted to her people. She will alert you to "strangers" that come up but has shown no aggression towards people.

Pippa needs a home of her own, one that can offer a little patience while she adjust to new surroundings. This poor girl has apparently had a rough life thus far and just needs a loving home so she can get back to enjoying being a family pet.

Pippa has had her yearly vaccine and some assistance with her spaying will be offered by SoCo Rescue.
