Violet, a young female Lab mix, has had to overcome many obstacles just to live.

Violet was a stray that was left behind after her mother and siblings all wandered off, leaving her all alone. The area in which she was found is well known to have the chicken farmers shoot any strays since they considered them a threat to their poultry stock. 

 Once Violet made it to us, she was spay and caught up to date with all her vaccines, but not before she was discovered to have contracted the parvovirus. But through SoCo and donations from the public, Violet was able to get the parvo treatments needed to save her life. She now is a very healthy and happy little girl.

Violet is currently living with a foster family in the Wilmington, De. area. Her foster family reports that Violet is a little shy at first, but warms up to people once she learns that they mean her no harm. Violet does get along great with other dogs, of all sizes. Her personality leads us to believe that she would also get along great with cats, too. She definitely would make a great pet for a family with children who know how to properly treat a dog.

All Violet needs, to complete her amazing journey of survival, is to find a family of her own. Don't let the opportunity to add such a wonderful girl to your home pass you by.
