Nellie is a very attentive, very loving senior chocolate Lab.  She is crate and somewhat house trained, but needs a fenced yard in which to be kept as she needs the exercise to keep her healthy and burn off the energy she has. She will sit on command and loves to play fetch. Nellie is very active for her age.

Nellie is good around other dogs, as she loves to play and is very active for a girl of her age! She will not be good in a home with cats. Nellie loves to play fetch.

Nellie was a stray in the Dublin, GA. area and found herself locked up in the Laurens Co. Animal Control. She was a bit thin and scared, but she has regained the weight (approx. 70 lbs. now). While in the animal control, she was housed with a dog the had been struck by a car. The other dog had no chance of survival, as it's back had been broken. During the time the injured dog had to be held in the animal control, Nellie would lie next to that dog, keeping it warm and calm, as if trying to help and reassure the injured dog that someone cared. Despite being an older dog, Nellie has plenty of life and play left in her. She would make a great pet for any family.
