Other Pictures of Beanie (click to see larger version):***Adoption Pending*** A young lady contacted SoCo Rescue two report finding a tiny, almost completely hairless little puppy all alone at a park. The pup weighed less than a pound, appeared to be a Chihuahua mix and barely a month old. The little fellow was in pretty rough shape; his odds of survival weren't that great. But this little fellow was determined to live and refused to give up. With the help of our dedicated staff, our little Beanie Boy made a full recovery and even regrew a thick coat of fur that is soft and handsomely unique. In addition to now being very healthy, Beanie Boy is also very well socialized towards people. He loves to play and he does have an abundance of energy, but he also entertains himself instead of barking or being disruptive while seeking attention. At only 4lbs. currently, Beanie Boy may only get to 10lbs. His ideal home would be with a young to middle-aged very active person who not only wanted a cute little pocket pooch, but would understand that sometimes certain training takes much longer with breeds such as Chihuahua and other small dogs. Children should be old enough and responsible enough to know how to properly handle a very small dog (no grabbing, picking up, pulling on ears, tails etc and especially aware of opening and closing doors around small dogs. Beanie Boy will have received all of his first year "puppy" vaccinations, including his rabies and Bordetella vaccines. He's also been de-wormed and treated against parasites at proper intervals and even started on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. He will require all of his basic training. He is accustomed to being in a crate or in a spacious kennel area. Beanie Boy's adopter must agree to having him neutered once he reaches 6 months of age and providing verification of such to our rescue. He should be considered as an inside dog with only well guarded outdoor time to potty and/or play.
