Mayfield was found as a stray by one of our foster parents in Georgia. A search for his owner was unsuccessful, so the foster mom took Mayfield under her care, giving him a safe place to stay while he was treated for heartworms and received the other care needed to get him ready for adoption. 

Mayfield has proven to be a very friendly fellow, getting along very well with other dogs and loving every person he meets. He loves going on walks and spending time outdoors. He's also lived as an inside dog and has done very well on his house training, but may need a refresher course once in his new home. He will do very well as a family pet, even in a home with young children who know how to properly treat a dog. 

Mayfield has been fully vetted and kept up to date on his annual vaccinations and monthly preventatives. As mentioned above, he was heartworm positive when he first arrived but completed his heartworm treatments in March, 2023.
