***Boone is currently at our facility in Georgia. He is scheduled to be transported to New Jersey on Jan 5 to be available for adoption at our upcoming adoption event at Tractor Supply in Ringoes, NJ over the Jan 6-7 weekend. Applications for the adoption of Boone can be submitted at socorescue.com (no need to register or login). Questions about Boone and/or our adoption process should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com. Please do not call the shelter number.*** Boone and six siblings were born on Sept 26, 2023 while their mom was stray dog that had taken up residence under an abandoned house. For reasons unknown, three of the seven pups passed away rather quickly, leaving four still under the house. A family who lived across from the old home offered to keep the mom dog and we were asked to take in the pups. When the family attempted to collect the pups to take them to SoCo Rescue, one of the pups ran into the woods and has not been seen since. The three remaining pups, Boone, Brock and Brynn, became SoCo dogs on Nov 14. Boone has flourished since coming to our rescue. He's definitely healthier, happier and full of life. He's always eager to see our staff and is always eager to snuggle up into a person's arms whenever the opportunity presents itself. Boone will make an excellent family companion. He will require all of his basic training. Boone is now up to date on all of his first year "puppy" vaccinations, including his rabies and Bordetella vaccines. He's also be de-wormed and treated against parasites at proper intervals and has been started on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. His adopter must agree to have Boone neutered once he reaches 6 months of age and provide verification of such tom our rescue.
