When Scott Bennett went to a local animal control to rescue a couple of adult dogs and some puppies, he noticed that there was one other dog impounded there that needed rescuing. Although that one dog would have been the only dog at the animal control and appeared to be pregnant, that city's policy was that any dog not rescued or reclaimed by it's owner after 5 days would be euthanized with no exceptions. Scott refused to let that happened and also rescued that dog, now named Maggie, from certain death. Maggie delivered her litter of 6 puppies at SoCo Rescue on Sept 1, 2023. Despite the pups being nursed properly, most seemed to be underdeveloped and really small for their age, except for Moose. Sadly, all but Moose and his sister, Polly, passed away after only three weeks of age. Both Moose and Polly are now doing excellent.

Moose is your typical very playful and friendly pup. He loves interacting with people and has interacted very well with other pups and even the few adult dogs that he's encountered during his stay with us. His wonderful personality makes him an ideal candidate for anyone looking to add a pup to their home.

Moose has received all three of his first year "puppy" vaccines as well as his rabies and Bordetella vaccinations. He's also been de-wormed and treated against the risk of parasites on a proper schedule. We've also started him on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. His adopter must agree to having him neutered once he reaches 6 months of age and provide verification of such to our rescue. Moose will require all of his basic training.
