In 1785  Robert Burns  wrote “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry”. And now, almost 300 years later, his words still ring true. Shelly's mom belong to a family who had followed the advice of their vet-waiting until their dog was over a year old before having her spay. But a male Labrador, whose owner allows him to roam freely throughout the neighborhood, became the "Awry" in the family's plans and impregnated Shelly's mom. Shelly was born on Aug. 15, 2023 and the family is keeping close guard on her mom until their Dec appointment to have her spay. 

Shelly may act a little shy at first, but give her a second to sniff around and see that all's well ad she'll become this little ball of energetic love! She is very friendly, playful, affectionate and smart! She's picked up on new routines rather quickly during her stay here at SoCo. She will bring much joy to your home and hearts.

Shelly has also received an update on her annual vaccinations, de-wormings and other such vet care. She's also been started and kept on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Her adopter must agree to having Shelly spay at 6 months of age and provide verification of such to our rescue. (Any vet recommended delays should be  submitted to us by the vet's office.) She will need additional house and leash training. She will require regular grooming and dental checkups.
