*** Prissy is with a loving foster in Flemington, NJ. Applications for her adoption should be submitted at socorescue.com (or click on this link: https://www.socorescue.com/forms/form?formid=1628 ). Questions about Prissy and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com (please do not call the shelter)*** At the end of July of this year, SoCo Rescue agreed to help a woman save her dogs. She was in violation of her city's ordinance regarding how many dogs could be at a home and only had a couple of days to remove a number of them. If at the end of the deadline, any dogs over the limit would be impounded by the animal control and given only five days to find new homes or be euthanized. We weren't able to find a place for the dogs to go by the time the deadline came, so the animal control impounded five 3-month old puppies, their mom and Prissy. But we didn't give up on our efforts and did find a place for all of the dogs to go, including one other female dog that was pregnant and had one day left before she would have been euthanized. Sadly, however, one of the puppies didn't make it out of the shelter alive as he was just too highly infected with a number of worms. As she was being removed from the shelter, Prissy began showing us just how thankful and affectionate she truly is. She simply loves being a lap dog but does display a bit of nervousness as she spent most of her life living outside. Prissy would do best in a home with older children and could even make a wonderful companion for a retired person. Prissy received an update on all of her annual vaccinations, de-wormings and preventatives. She has been spay and is HW Negative. She does get along with other dogs, but tends to be a little jealous and and steal the attention being given to another dog. We would recommend a "meet-and-greet" with any other dogs that would be in the home. Prissy may need additional house, leash and other basic training.
