Honey Bun has just came to our  rescue  on Nov. 11, 2009. She was a stray that was found at a local prison, where some strays have been shot on orders of the warden. One of the guards at the prison contacted us some time ago and alerted us to Honey Bun's situation. We were also told that she got her name because she swiped a honey bun from one of the trustee's, then walked away with the treat in her mouth and a big smile on her face!
She was very apprehensive when we first went to get her, but has warmed up to us since being in the rescue. She has shown no signs of aggression, but does hate it when a leash is put on her. We have found, in similar cases, that a body harness works better with dogs such as Honey Bun. She is a very sweet, quite girl that only needs a loving home to call her own. She is not spayed at this time, but assistance may be available for this procedure. She will also be started on a monthly heart worm preventative and given her yearly vaccines. Honey Bun appears to be at least 5 years old
