While driving home from work, a SoCo Rescue staff member came across Duncan, only 6 weeks old at the time, sitting all alone on a dirt road. We later found out that Duncan had formerly belonged to a woman who had a number of unaltered dogs that kept breeding with each other. Since that woman failed to provide even the basic care for any of her dogs, including feeding them, her adult dogs resorted to killing and eating the litters of puppies that were being born and even some of her adult dogs also starving to death. Calls to the local law enforcement resulted in nothing being done about the former owner's neglect of her dogs, so eventually someone took matters into their own hands. Someone broke into the former owner's home, took Duncan and his littermates and left them at various homes around the Glenwood area thinking that would give the pups a better chance at survival than they had if they remained with their former owner. We're not sure what became of the other pups or how Duncan ended up all alone on the dirt road, but we did meet the former owner who confirmed what we had been told and that Duncan was once one of her puppies. While what we were told was very disturbing, it paled in comparison to the lack of remorse that the former owner displayed over the lack of care given to her dogs.

Duncan didn't waste a minute in showing how grateful he was to be rescued from an uncertain future and has remained most willing to his appreciation. He's very friendly and playful, gets along great with other pups. As you might notice from his pictures, Duncan can sometimes be a mischievous little fellow but not in a bad way. He will bring plenty of laughter and love into your life.

Duncan has received 2/3 of his first year "puppy" vaccinations as well as his bordetella and rabies vaccines. He's been de-wormed and treated against parasites as well on regular intervals and even started on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. His adopter must agree to having Duncan neutered once he reaches 6 months of age and provide verification of such to our rescue. Duncan will require all of his basic training.
