She suffered from hairless due to flea infestation. What fur she did have was dirty and matted, she reeked of the same odor that came from the old bed mattress that she and nine other dogs slept on. She was underweight and very hungry. She and the nine other dogs lived within a small area enclosed by chicken wire and had absolutely no place that would provide them with shelter from rain and a nasty storm about to hit the area. SoCo Rescue President and CEO Scott Bennett was able to convince the man that his best option, at that moment, was to willfully surrender all 10 of his dogs to SoCo Rescue. From the moment Stella was lifted over the fencing at her former home, she has began a new love affair with life! Where there was once hopelessness, there is now joy. And she's found that some people actually like to receive the love she has to offer. She's very accepting of new people, should do fine in a home with responsible children and would love a nice big yard to run and play in. She'll most likely need some work on her house and leash training. Stella has been spayed, received an update on her annual vaccinations and de-wormings as well as being started on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. She did test negative for heartworms as well.
