If you'd like to see an example of irresponsible pet ownership then examine the story of sisters Billie and Birdie. Their mom was a stray unaltered
(example #1)
adult female dog who was discarded (Ex#2) in a very rural part of this area. She took up residence at a home where a few unaltered (Ex #3 ) adult dogs live and also sees a high number of unaltered male and female dogs (Ex 4) who are permitted to roam freely (Ex #5). Because the stray female was allowed to roam freely (Ex #6) as well. Eventually the inevitable happened and the stray female became pregnant (Ex. #7). The homeowner never provided the pups with any vaccinations, de-wormings or preventative care (Ex #8). They then gave away all but two of the pups to anyone who wanted one (Ex #9) and without any concerns for their future care or love (Ex #9). The two remaining pups, Billie and Birdie, are now with SoCo Rescue and
Billie is the smaller of the sisters and quite obviously the more sociable. She is always eager to greet our staff members to give them lots of kisses and get belly rubs. Billie will make an excellent addition to any home that's looking for a friendly and affectionate dog to add to their family.
Billie has already received all three of her first year "puppy" vaccines, her Bordatella vaccine, been de-wormed/treated against parasites
at required intervals
and started on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. She will be receive her rabies vaccination and have a parasite screening (to check for any parasites and/or worms) prior to adoption. Her adopter must agree to having Billie spay at 6 months of age and providing verification of such to our rescue.
