Parker and his two brothers, Perry and Porter, came from a home that had to be one of the worst in regards to providing proper care and housing for a dog. In addition to the 10 small to medium sized dogs living in extreme filth outside the man's home were three puppies, approx 3 months old, that were stuffed inside a wire crate that was made for one dog their size. There was nothing covering the crate to give the three pups protection from the sun or rain, and the bottom of the crate was filled with a mix of puppy feces and dog food and Scott saw one of the pups eating food covered with dog waste. Scott also noticed the absence of any water bowl inside the crate.
After listening to the owner of the dogs give a poor excuse as to why his dogs were living in squalor, Scott and the staff member were more than happy to remove the three pups from within the nasty crate. Each of the pups had feces stuck in the fur and they also looked to be undernourished. The three brothers appeared a bit nervous when we opened the crate door and removed them from the small cage but their demeanor changed in an instant when they realized that this time they weren't being shoved back into their now former prison of filth.
Parker was the first to leave that crate and he's not stopped smiling since. This fun-loving, well socialized little fellow has such an amazing personality that he's sure to grab hold of a few hearts and embed himself inside them for a long, long time. He's full of energy and loves to run and play. Parker will do great in any type home setting, even with children who are responsible enough to handle a small dog.
Parker has received an update on his annual vaccinations, been de-wormed and treat against parasites and started on his monthly preventatives. His adopter must agree to have Parker neutered once he reaches 6 months of age and provide verification of such to our rescue.
