Sandy was only about 3-4 months old when she, her brother Beau and their mom were found as strays at a home in the Glenwood area in June of 2022. SoCo Rescue was asked to help this family of dogs, completely full and unable to get them into our rescue, but was able to find a foster home for them to stay at. While we had hoped to have Sandy available for adoption much sooner, circumstances beyond our control prohibited us from doing so. Our wonderful foster was very patient and allowed  Sandy,  Beau  and their mom to stay at her home and provided them with love and care until we were able to to get them ready for adoption. Sandy and   Beau  were recently moved to SoCo Rescue so we could get to know them better and their mom is still at the foster home as she was diagnosed with heartworms and will be made available for adoption once she has been treated for heartworms. 

 

Initially Sandy was extremely shy and hesitant in meeting new people but has made great progress in her socialization. She now seems eager to make new friends but is still a little shy when first meeting new people. She plays very well with other dogs, has shown absolutely no aggressive behavior towards other animals or people. She is a great choice for anyone looking for a companion who is sweet, affectionate and playful but not overly hyper.

 

Sandy has now been spayed, kept up to date on her annual vaccinations, monthly preventatives and regular de-wormings. She's a very healthy, happy girl who simply needs a home that will provide her with the love that she needs.
