She had been with her former family for most of her life, but changes to the family's lifestyle, namely their work schedules, left them very little time to spend with her and they felt it best to re-home her so she could get the love and attention that she deserved. While with her former family, Pepper was an excellent family companion. She loves playing fetch, enjoys playing with her doggy toys but most of all, she loves interacting with people. And while she didn't share the home with any other dogs, she did play well with them when given the chance. We did notice, however, for the brief time she was at a foster home, she was reluctant to "play well" with the other dogs but interacted very well with the children at the foster's home. . That could have been due to all of the sudden changes she had to go through-being on a strange place, no longer having her family or anything else that was once so familiar to her. We do believe that once she gets settled into a new home, she'll return to being a very dog-friendly girl. She does have a lot of energy and is very smart, so a home that will allow her ample room to run and play as well as having plenty of time to interact with her new family would be best for her. Pepper's former owner kept her up to date on all of her annual vaccinations, de-wormings and other such vet care. She's been spayed, kept on her monthly preventatives and even tested negative for heartworms during her recent vet examination. While in her former home, Pepper did excellent on her house training but may need a little time to adjust once in her new home. At some point, Pepper suffered any eye injury that caused the removal of her left eye but does not affect her in any negative way. If you're looking for a medium-sized dog that will make a great addition as a family companion, then Pepper may be exactly what you're looking for!
