Starr was found as a stray by a family in a neighboring county. They not only offered Starr a place to stay, their daughter also began teaching Starr basic commands like sit, stay and even how to navigate a set of landscape timbers that had been elevated and set at a 90 degree angle. Starr proved to be very intelligent and a fast learner in addition to being very friendly towards the young girl.

But the family couldn't keep Starr, never found anyone who claimed her as their dog so they asked SoCo Rescue for help in finding her a new home. We relocated Starr to one of our foster homes where she continued her excellent behavior and even got along great with the foster's other dogs until, and for unknown reasons, one of the other dogs and Starr began having issues with each other and even got into a couple of fights. At that point, we brought Starr to our facility in Georgia and she was fostered by SoCo Rescue's President and CEO Scott Bennett.

Starr has been excellent while with Scott, proving to be almost completely house trained, with only a couple of accidents. She's been extremely friendly, obedient and well mannered. Even while other dogs would bark at the movement of a fly, Starr has rarely barked. She's picked up on new routines almost immediately, has not shown any aggression towards other dogs. In fact she now seems reluctant to be around other dogs, which could be the results of getting attacked by the dog at the foster home. Starr almost always greets her humans with an actual smile and a speedy tail wag. She's been great around children and will make a great family companion.

Starr has been fully vetted, tested negative for heartworms and has been spayed.
