We asked Timber's foster mom for an update:  "Timber is a super friendly and affectionate pup.  He likes to play and loves to sit on my lap.  He is working on house training and leash training.  He gets a long well with his brother Culvert and they would be a perfect pair!  They play together and entertain each other when left alone in their crate.   We love having them in our home."

If you follow our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/socorescue) then you're most likely familiar with the story of Timber. His mom is the small white and brown female Terrier mix that's been at large for about two years. Attempts to catch this girl have only led to being outsmarted by this very elusive dog but we were able to catch two of her four pups from her latest litter.

Timber was the first to be caught and at a very early age of approx 5-6 weeks old. Accompanied by the property owner, his son and grandson, Scott set out to find and capture the pups who were now hiding in the woods. While their mom tried to lead us away from the litter, two of the pups were found hiding under a fallen tree. One pup was very quick and disappeared into the thick brush but the other, who is now Timber, was a step slower and was caught by one of the young men.

Timber almost instantly became attached to Scott and welcomed becoming friends with the other humans who took care of him. Timber has a very outgoing personality, is extremely playful and has a lot of energy to spend but he also loves curling up on your lap and just relaxing. He and his brother (see Culvert) are very attached and we'd love to see the brothers adopted together if at all possible. His ideal home will be one that includes older children, other friendly, playful dogs and plenty of room to run and play.  In what little time we've spent with Timber, he has learned a lot and appears to be very smart.

Timber has received all three of his first year "puppy" vaccines, his rabies vaccination and been de-wormed and treated against parasites on a regular basis. His recent exam did detect traces of hookworms but he has since been treated and should now be clear of them. His adopter must agree to having Timber neutered once he reaches 6 months of age and provide verification of such to our rescue.
