Smalls and who we believe to be his father, Biggie, were both found wandering the roads in a remote section of our county. The young lady who found the pair reported that there were no houses anywhere near where she found the dogs, but check at the closest homes but no one seem to know anything about Smalls or his dad. Luckily, we had an open spot at the time and were able to get both dogs into our rescue. Our attempts at locating an owner didn't yield any positive results.

Smalls is a very friendly little fellow. While he may bark at a stranger, he's really a pint-sized mush-puppy. He's very inquisitive, so having an area that allows Smalls to sniff and explore is highly recommended. He is very friendly, playful and will make a great addition into just about any home, including one with children who know how to properly treat and handle a dog. Smalls will need additional house training, but having a yard for him to roam in as mentioned previously would definitely help that training go smoothly.

While Smalls has only interacted with his dad since coming into our rescue. His dad is a bit reactive towards other dogs and Smalls will sometimes follow his dad's lead. But we think that once out of the shelter environment, Smalls will be very accepting of another dog. We're not sure how he'll do around cats.

Smalls has now been neutered, received and update on his annual vaccinations, treated against worms, parasites as well as started on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
