Video of Sadie (now Riley):UPDATE ON RILEY: Riley, previously Sadie, is an amazing puppy. Her foster mom says that she is timid at first but warms up quickly. She is adjusting to all the new sights, sounds and smells and is more comfortable and playful everyday. She is making progress in house training, crate training and leash training. Riley is playful and loves her toys. She is a quick learner and has started to "sit" and "fetch". She does not jump or bark much. She loves belly rubs and sleeping on the couch and she snores which is totally adorable! Everyday her personality unfolding and she becomes more confident and comfortable. She will be a great companion for an individual, a couple or a family with older kids (She is strong!) Another doggie playmate, mild but playful in temperament, would probably help her to learn the ropes. She would also be good as an only dog so long as she gets enough attention! Video of Riley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-LD9HqBo_Y Riley, was adopted in June to a couple that just lost their beloved pet. They were just going good shopping when they decided to stop by our Adoption Event. Unfortunately, as much as they LOVE her, they fell they need more time to grieve the dog they lost. Sometimes moving on helps the grieving process but not always. We are glad that they are doing what is right for Riley , we are happy to help find this girl her forever home & welcome the opportunity to find their match when they are both ready. ————————————- Sadie and her two sisters came to our rescue after their former owners surrendered them to us. The owners were what is known as "backyard" breeders, those who illegally and without a license breed and sell puppies. This family only bred Bulldog puppies and were thought to be selling them to known dog fighters. In January 2022, the same family surrendered a litter of 6 Bulldog puppies that had contracted parvo. We were able to save four of the six. Shortly after arriving to SoCo, Sadie and one of her sisters broke with parvo and the sister was lost overnight. For days, Sadie remained under critical care and we thought that we might loose her as well. But this amazing pup refused to succumb to the disease that claimed the lives of her sister and cousins in January, slowly regaining her health Sadie has now become a very affectionate pup. Everytime she sees Scott Bennett, she begins to display a very emotional display of gratitude, wanting to give him as many kisses and as much love as she can. There's no doubt that Sadie will remain a very friendly and affectionate dog as she grows older. Give this girl the guidance and training she needs and you'll have one amazing dog as a companion.. Sadie now has received all of her first year "puppy" vaccinations, been de-wormed and treated against parasites. She's also been started on her monthly preventatives. Her adopter will agree to having Sadie spay once she reaches 6 months of age and provide proof of such to our rescue. She will require all of her basic training.
