Other Pictures of Inspi (click to see larger version):The year of 2021 was a very difficult year for SoCo Rescue as it started out with an illness that left President and CEO Scott Bennett sidelined for almost two months. That was followed by our landlord advising us that she was selling her properties and that we'd have to move. And just when things could seem to get any worse, our transport bus broke down and required a very expensive engine replacement before it would be road-ready. Needless to say, Scott was very worried about the future of the rescue. But towards the end of that year, one phone call seeking help for some dogs provided Scott with the inspiration he needed to forge forward and not give up hope. The owner of three dogs had been incarcerated, leaving no one to care for his dogs. For a couple of months, Scott would visit the dogs twice a day and provide them with food, water and an attempt to show them some love. While two of the dogs were very apprehensive towards Scott, the third, a mixed breed female, would get very close to Scott but would not let him close enough to touch her. As Scott was about to leave after filling the food and water bowls, he noticed the young mixed breed female trotting towards him from across the yard with something in her mouth. Once she reached Scott, the dog dropped the object from her mouth and almost onto Scott's lap. Scott tried to hand the object back to the dog, but she would just push the object right back towards him as if to say "No, you keep it". Scott examined the object and found it to be a fake rock with the word "Inspiration" engraved on it. It was at that moment that this mixed breed girl shed her apprehensions and buried her face into Scott's chest and allowed him to pet her and, a few days later, allowed Scott to pick her up and remove her from the property.. Scott found himself thinking that if this dog, who had no idea where her next meal would come from or if she'd ever have a home again could never give up hope, then so could he! Scott named this dog "Inspi" after being an inspiration to him. Inspi has gone on to become a very social and friendly dog who finds it easy to make new friends. She still hold a little hesitation when meeting new people, but give this wonderful girl a few days of love and dog biscuits and she'll quickly become your best friend Inspi is now fully vetted, uo to date on all of her vaccinations and has been kept up to date on her monthly preventative. Applications for the adoption of Inspi should be submitted at socorescue.con
