After receiving a call seeking help for a trio of senior dogs, we realized very quickly that we already knew these dogs. Blackie's two friends, Jack and Jill, had previously been rescued by SoCo and eventually adopted by a relative of their former owner. When that relative suffered life-changing health issues, Blackie and her two friends were in need of new homes. 

What you'll first notice about Blackie is her very sweet and affectionate personality. She's never met a stranger she didn't like and is quick to make friends when meeting new people. She's also gotten along great with other dogs and passed out cat test, making her an ideal addition into just about any home, especially as a companion to a senior/retired person looking for a calm, laid-back new friend. 

Blackie has been spayed, just received an update on her annual vaccinations, treated against parasites and worms and re-started on her monthly preventatives. She may require additional house training but does walk very well on a leash.

Unfortunately Blackie tested positive for heartworms. Due to her age, we strongly recommend that she not undergo the "fast kill" method of treatment and will be happy to discuss other options in addressing her heartworms.
