Other Pictures of Jack (click to see larger version):***Jack and his sister Jill are being foster in Pennington, NJ. If interested in adoption Jack, please submit an application at socorescue.com*** Their foster mom brags how easy these two are….they are 100% housetrained, love going for hikes & snuggling on the couch. They would make the perfect companion. Getting a call seeking help for dogs whose owner can no longer care for them isn’t anything uncommon. But getting a call to save dogs that we’ve previously rescued is.
A couple of years ago, Jack and his sister, Jill, were about to be euthanized after their original owner passed away. A relative of their original owner agreed to take them in and gave them a great home, which included another dog (Blackie) that the seniors siblings already knew. All was going very well until the relative recently suffered serious health problems that now prevents her from even returning homes, much less care for three older dogs. So when the call for help came in, we immediately jumped tab the opportunity to help all three. While we'd love to see Jack and Jill adopted together, we know that will be a hard task to complete.
Jack's wonderful personality and extremely friendly nature will put a smile on your face as well as in your heart. He seems to always have a smile on his face, is always eager to greet you with his tail wagging and simply loves interaction with people of all ages. While still very active, Jack enjoys just relaxing and being near anyone who is in his presence. Jack will make a great companion to a senior/retired person who is looking for a calm, laid-back friend.
Jack has been neutered, just received an update on his annual vaccinations, treated against parasites and worms and re-started on his monthly preventatives. He is house trained and does walk very well on a leash.
Unfortunately he tested positive for heartworms over 1 year ago. Due to his age, we strongly recommend that he not undergo the "fast kill" method of treatment and has been on the “slow kill” method. Before adopting we will have him retested for HW status, I bet you he is negative!!
If you can open your heart for a senior dog in need of some TLC, please submit an application for the adoption of Jack at socorescue.com.
