***Raider is being fostering in the Flemington, NJ area. If interested, please fillout our application at www.SoCoRescue.com*** Raider and his three siblings became orphans after their mom was struck and killed by a car. The owner of the mom dog knew she was pregnant but had no idea that she had delivered her pups and assumed that the pups perished with their mom. A couple of days later, someone heard a faint cry and then discovered the four pups bundled together in a field next to the house. Initially we were told the pups were two days old, but we were able to determine that the pups were actually about 2 weeks old, meaning they had been in the field and without their mom for a few days. The pups were severely dehydrated, hungry and close to dying, but after a few days of bottle feeding and round the clock care, they began to regain their health. Raider is the established alpha of the litter, but not in an aggressive manner. He's typically the one who instigates all the playing and mischievous activities that eventually draw the attention of his siblings. Raider is very affectionate, playful and well-socialized towards people. Give this fellow proper training and he'll be a great family companion. Raider is still undergoing his vaccination period and will have received 2/3 of his first year "puppy" vaccines prior to his release. He's also been treated against parasites, de-wormed and started on his monthly preventatives. His rabies vaccination should be obtained after he reaches 12 weeks of age. His adopter must agree to having Raider neutered once he reaches 6 months of age and providing verification of such to our rescue. Raider will require all of his basic training. To apply for the adoption of Raider, please submit an application at socorescue.com (no need to register or login).
