***Adoption Pending.***

At a time of the night when most people have just about concluded their day, SoCo Rescue received a call about a very young puppy that was in dire need of some help. A couple watched in horror as they witnessed someone toss April from inside their car, onto the road and then simply drive away leaving this poor little pup to fend for herself. We’re not positive exactly when it happened, most likely when she was thrown from the car, but April had a huge open gash on her head and cuts and scrapes all around her torso. Her injuries were consistent with road rash, which left the top of her head raw, bloodied and open to the point that we could almost see her skull. The couple who witness the abuse to April contacted us and was more than willing to bring her to us immediately.

Once April arrived, she was immediately examined by some of the SoCo staff. At first she was scared and uncertain of what would happen next. Those fears quickly disappeared once Scott Bennett, SoCo’s President and CEO, held her close and whispered words of comfort into her ear.  Since that night, April has made a quick and impressive recovery and seems to have put her horrible ordeal behind her.

April has since proven to be a very affectionate pup with a calm personality who also loves to play with other pups her own age and size. She’s still a little reserved when first meeting new people but waste no time in turning on the charm once she feels comfortable with the person. April will surely bring much love, many smiles and great companionship into her new home.

April has now received 2/3 of her first year “puppy” vaccines, been de-wormed, treated against parasites and started on her monthly preventatives. Her adopter must agree on having April spayed once she reaches 6 months of age and provide proof of such to our rescue.She will require all of her basic training.
