Whether it was due to being born completely deaf or too full of  sweetness, Fina disappointed her original owner by not learning to become the big, bad hunting dog that he wanted her to be. While the Dogo Argentino breed was originally created to be a hunting dog, Fina was more interested in giving dog kisses and playing  than she was in putting her life in danger simply for her owner’s choice of barbaric gratification. Her owner was planning on just killing Fina since she was useless to him, but a very kind-hearted woman convince the owner to give Fina to her. While this woman’s compassionate plea managed to save Fina’s life, she knew that Fina would need to find a more suitable and larger home than she could offer. After reaching out to a number of rescues and getting no responses at all, the woman found SoCo Rescue’s information and asked us to help Fina. 
 

Fina has proven to us that she’s dog friendly, getting along great with every dog she’s interacted with but will respond in a similar manner to a dog who displays aggression towards her. She’ll do great in a home with another dog who is dog-friendly. She will chase cats but only in a playful manner and has never harmed them. Fina is a BIG pup! At just an year old, she’s already topping 100lbs and isn’t finished growing! Because of her size and “puppy” style of playing, we’d not consider a home with small children and would also require that her new home would be able to offer her plenty of room to run and play.

Fina has been fully vetted, kept on her monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives and is already microchipped. She is completely deaf but capable of being trained using hand signals. She has house training skills but may need additional training once in a new home.
