*** Apollo will be available for adoption at Rosedale Mills (Pennington, NJ) over the Dec 7th weekend. At this time we're only accepting applications for his adoption from the NJ and surrounding areas.*** **Apollo is currently in a loving foster in Pennington, NJ. Here’s what they said about him when asked if he’s a good boy...He is by my standards. But perhaps not quite by those of all prospective adopters. So we are working on: mouthiness (plays by fake chewing on human hands and other dogs faces), jumping up with front paws onto people, chewing shoes. The wonderful things he has going for him are his ease of bonding, that he is hugely affectionate and social (does well with other dogs even if he does play with them in his chewy big dog way, no aggression though), and likes humans. Apollo came into our rescue after his release from a local animal control. His former owner would allow Apollo to roam freely around the rural neighborhood and was quite often found by the same woman. He constantly tried to get to all of the neighbor's chickens and even killed a few, which were followed with threats by those people to shoot and kill Apollo. After repeated attempts to the owner to contain Apollo, the AC in that area impounded him. While his former owner knew that Apollo was being detained, he didn't try to reclaim his dog so SoCo Rescue took possession of him. Apollo is very people and dog friendly. He is very active and playful but not hyper and seems to enjoy his time spent with both humans and other dogs. While we know of his "love" for chickens, we're not sure how he'll be around cats. With a little guidance and training, Apollo will make a great companion into almost any home situation. Apollo has now been fully vetted, recently tested negative for heartworms and has been kept on his monthly preventatives. He may need some additional house and basic training but he's been doing very well at his current foster home To apply for the adoption of Apollo, please submit an application at socorescue.com
