Description:
Sadly, Marcie's owner passed away and now she is looking for a new forever home! She is very lucky that a friend of her previous dad stepped up to take care of her until a new home is found. She is now being fostered in Frenchtown, NJ. Her foster mom writes.... Marcie is very sweet and lived a wonderful life with her daddy.
She would do best with someone who would love a lap dog. She bonds quickly to her person. She is a little shy in the beginning but warms up very fast.
She gets a long with other small dogs in her foster home & we are not sure how she would do with larger dogs. She really wants all the attention to herself & we don't blame her!
She is true to her breed and will chase cats, squirrels, birds for the fun of the chase.
Marcie loves to go for walks and car rides, but loves to snuggle too.
Marcie is house trained, wee wee pad trained, crate trained but would rather sleep in a sunny spot.
If Marcie sounds like your perfect fit, please fillout our application at www.SoCoRescue.com to get the process started.
Here is her adoption story........
Before coming into our rescue, poor Marcie suffered through what is an all-too-common, albeit very wrong, way of life for a lot dogs in our area. Her former owner forced this little girl to live outdoors 24/7 and never really gave her any time or love. Because of that, Marcie grew to be very scared and timid of most things in life. Her former owner subjected Marcie to that horrible life because "...she wasn't house trained". What this person, who offered no training, failed to realize is that Marcie is actually a very smart and wonderful dog that simply needed someone to give her a little guidance. Once in the SoCo Rescue family Marcie was placed into a wonderful foster home where she was allowed to live indoors. Marcie took a few days to get accustomed to her new surroundings but was very friendly towards the foster's other dogs and everyone that she met. And while she'll need some additional training, Marcie quickly began to display some house training skills! All she needed was a little love, patience and a lap to curl up with. Marcie is an extremely relaxed dog but isn't fearful of people. She's very quite, rarely does she make a sound, and has never shown any aggressive behavior. She is actually very sweet girl who loves to go on walks, run in a fenced area and just needs someone to love her. She'll do very well as a companion to an elderly/retired person or in a home without young children. She should be able to share a home with other, calm dogs but doesn't seem to like cats. If you're looking for a little lap dog companion and think you can offer Marcie what she was denied by her former owner, then please submit an application at socorecue.com
