**Red is scheduled to attend our adoption event at Rosedale Mills (Pennington, NJ) over the Aug 24-26 weekend.**

Red's journey through life has seen it's ups and downs. A few years ago, Red found himself searching for food at a local dumpster, living with a colony of stray cats when a man found and took him home. Living with this man for a few years, Red thought his life was set. But then Red's owner died unexpectedly, leaving him alone and homeless once again. That's when an elderly neighbor took Red in and offered him a new home, leading Red to believe that he'd once again found his forever home. But as fate does sometimes, this elderly lady became aware of her own serious medical conditions that would eventually lead to her not being able to properly care for Red. The woman's one wish is for Red to find a great home and receive the love that he deserves.

Red is a very friendly fellow who is also very playful and active.. He tends to be a little cranky around other dogs and we're not sure how he'll do in a home with another dog. While at his both of his former homes, Red lived indoors and did very well with his house training. He's leash trained, loves to go on walks, travels well in a car and thrives on human interaction. Red has been fully vaccinated, kept on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives and did test positive for heartworms in 2017. At his age Red would not be a good candidate to undergo heartworm treatments. (We'll be happy to discuss other treatment options, if interested.). He's also currently on an inexpensive eye medication.

This old fellow simply needs a home that will be his last home. He still has a lot of life in him and Red will definitely make a great companion for a retired/senior person.
