**Sparrow will be available for adoption at Rosedale Mills (Pennington, NJ) over the July 13-15 weekend.**

In a time when we hear stories of law enforcement officers not seeming to care about the welfare of an animal comes the story of Sparrow, who wouldn't be here today if it weren't for the help she receive from members of our own Wheeler Co Sheriff's Dept. 

Sparrow had gained entry into an elderly woman's back yard which was surrounded by a fence. The woman tried her best to care for the frail dog that had taken up residence on her property, but being confined to a wheelchair, there was little that this compassionate woman could do. That's when an officer with the Wheeler Co Sheriff's Dept got involved, taking it upon himself to pay visits to Sparrow on a daily basis to feed and care for her. The officer contacted SoCo Rescue and asked if we could take Sparrow into our rescue and find her a new home. Later that day Sparrow was transported to SoCo Rescue by the Wheeler Co.Sheriff's Dept. 

Since coming to SoCo, Sparrow has transformed from being scared, skinny, "end of my rope" dog to becoming healthy, happy and very confident! She seems to have a keen sense of tracking as her nose is usually towards the ground. When it's not, Sparrow is usually playing with one of her friends, be that another dog or a person. Her very friendly personality makes her a great family companion. 

Sparrow has been fully vetted and recently tested negative for heartworms. We're not sure if she's house trained.
