When we first received the call about Ranger and his litter mates being in need of rescue, we were taken back a bit by their story. It seems that this family had two pregnant female dogs deliver a total of 18 pups within days of each other. Of those 18 pups, only five ended up surviving and making their way to our rescue. All five were covered with fleas and ticks, causing them to be very anemic and weak. Despite our best efforts, one of those five didn't survive three days after coming to our rescue. Luckily Ranger, his two litter mates and one pup from the other litter are now all doing very well and are now ready to find their forever homes.

We were told that Ranger's mom was an Akita but no one had an idea of who the father was. We're not positive exactly what mix these pups are but we're definitely sure that they're all very sweet and adorable! Being the only male of this pack of pups, Ranger is also one of the friendliest and quickest to accept new things, including people. He's very playful, fun and just adorable with his big ears and slight under bite.

Ranger is undergoing his vaccination period and has already received 2 of his 3 first year puppy vaccines (as of 6/10). He's been de-wormed, treated against parasites and started on his monthly preventatives. Ranger's adopter must agree to having him neutered once he reaches 5 months of age and providing proof of such to our rescue. He will need all of his basic training butthis should come easy as he's a very smart fellow
