**Hershey is being fostered in the Pennington, NJ area**

You ever meet a the type of person who obtains a new dog every 6 months and gives them up after discovering that the dog isn’t “perfect”? Such was the case with Hershey whose former owner provided her with the care she needed yet had no idea how to raise a puppy. He surrendered Hershey to us because she “wasn’t trained”, namely with her house training and high energy level. What this man doesn’t realize is that he gave away a very loving and friendly little pup.

Hershey is a little timid when first meeting new people, but that could be due to her suddenly loosing her home and ending up in a shelter. We've noticed that once she's around a person for a about a day she become attached to them. Hershey is very playful yet also loves to cuddle in someone's lap. While with her former owner, she loved going for rides, accompanying him while he ran his errands and did very well in his vehicle

Being a mix of Chihuahua and Terrier, Hershey does have a natural high energy level and requires someone who not only understands her breed but also appreciates her personality.  She gets along with other dogs but does have a little alpha personality towards other hyper dogs at times. We think that with proper training and guidance, Hershey could coexist with another dog in her new home. We would recommend that a home with no young children due to her high energy level.

Hershey has now been fully vetted, including being spayed. She’s been treated against worms, parasites and has started on her monthly flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. She also recently tested negative for heart worms.
