**Sophie will be available for adoption at Rosedale Mills, located in Pennington, NJ, over the Feb 2-4 weekend.**

Sophie and her best friend, Karma, came to SoCo Rescue as owner surrenders after these two girls and some of the other dogs at their former home began having trouble coexisting together. We're not positive which dog at that home was the instigator of the problems but for the safety of all dogs, the owner felt it best to remove Sophie and Karma.

Sophie is very friendly towards everyone she meets and has never shown any aggressive actions towards people. Her former home included adults, children, cats and other dog as well. Other than the problems that led to her being surrendered, which seems to have been with just one particular dog, her former owner never had a problem with her.  

While Sophie is great around people, we'd suggest a home with only older children since she likes to play and is in need of some basic training to stop her from jumping up-she is still a puppy, after all!. We do feel that Sophie will excel in just about any home situation if she is given proper guidance and basic training. We have thoroughly enjoyed Sophie being here as she is very friendly and playful. We do believe that Sophie is a mix of Chocolate Lab/Pointer/Bulldog and will be a year old April, 2018.

Sophie has now been fully vetted and even tested negative for heart worms in Dec 2017. We've kept her on her monthly preventatives and made sure that she remains as healthy as possible. She did receive some house training at her former home but most likely will need additional training once in a new home.

Since coming to our rescue, Sophie has been a very good girl. While she seems to be willing to be friendly with other dogs, we suggest a "Meet and Greet" with any dogs that a potential adopter may have.
