**Sputnik will be available for adoption at Rosedale Mills (Pennington, NJ) over the Sept 8-10 weekend.**

When Sputnik picked the house that he decided to wander upon, he couldn't have found a more kinder, compassionate person to offer him refuge. A little thin and in need of some care, this former stray dog found exactly what he needed in the form of a temporary home as the young lady did everything she could to care for him until we could get Sputnik into our rescue.

Sputnik quickly proved himself to be very people and dog friendly, getting along great with the woman's other dogs and children. In fact, he seems to thrive on human contact and quite often will offer his paw as a sign of friendship. While in her care, we began his vaccination and worming periods and eventually got him to our vet for other needed care. Sputnik even tested negative for heart worms on 8/27/17. Being non-aggressive, Sputnik will be great as a family companion. He appears to have had some house training but will need additional training once in a new home. 

Unfortunately, Sputnik likes to chase cats and probably wouldn't do well in a home that included them. He can also jump over a 4' fence so care needs to be taken when left alone in a yard with a short fence.
