**Penny will be available for adoption at Rosedale Mills (in Pennington, NJ) over the Aug 18-20 weekend**

Penny's former owner came to the realization that she could no longer provide for her or her other Dachshund and asked SoCo to find a home for them both. Prior to surrendering the two to us, the woman's male Dachshund impregnated Penny, thus delaying any attempts on placing Penny for adoption. But now that Penny's pups are weaned and ready for adoption themselves, it's time for Penny to find her new home.

Penny is a very calm, friendly and quite dog. She's a little timid around new people at first but give her a few days and she becomes the near perfect lap dog! 

Penny is accustomed to being around other dogs and does very well with them. She's also excellent around people of all ages and has never shown any aggression at all. Penny's even had some house training but may need a refresher course once in a new home. 

Penny's now been spay, had all of her vaccines updated and even tested negative for heart worms on Aug 11, 2017. We've kept her on a monthly flea/tick and heart worm preventative since she's been with our rescue.
