**Opie will be available for adoption at Rosedale Mills in Pennington, NJ over the July 7-9 weekend**

 

Apparently Opie’s former life was one that left much to be desired, evident by the long scar running down his back. Such scars can be caused by a chemical burns, coming in contact with a hot exhaust pipe or even by being kept on a chain or tether with the dog constantly pulling the restraint across it’s back. Whatever the cause, it’s still a question as to whether Opie’s fur will grow back but it’s no longer causing him pain.

 

Eventually becoming a stray pup, Opie was very lucky to be found by a compassionate young lady, who immediately took him to a vet to be checked and started his vaccination and other needed care. This lady also made it her mission to find a safe place for Opie rather than simply surrender him to her county’s high kill shelter.

 

As soon as we met Opie, we saw that he is a super friendly fellow and instantly everyone’s best friend, be that humans or other dogs. He plays well with both and hasn’t shown any signs of aggression whatsoever. His tail always seems to be wagging and he always has a big smile on his face. He will do very well as a family pet or in a home with other dogs.

 

Opie may need some house and leash training but he appears to pick up on new things rather well so his training should go pretty smoothly. Opie has been neutered and is up to date on all of his vaccines and wormings.
